H.E. DR. BAWUMIA, THOUGH AN ECONOMIST APPEARS “NAIVE” ABOUT WHAT A 24-HOUR ECONOMY IS!!

Those of us in the Diaspora, felt disgraced and shockingly dismayed at Dr. Bawumia’s exhibition of a complete “lack of understanding” over what a “24-Hour Economy” is.

Until his economic prowess was subjected to a test, upon his assumption of office as the vice president of Ghana and the head of the Economic Management Team in 2017, many thought he was an Ecomomic “wizkid”, only to be exposed by basic “Economic Matrices”.

The detasteful failure by his government, has rendered him helpless in the country’s Economic discourse especially when his rhetorics are being put to him with the most famous of them being; “if your fundamentals of your economy are weak, the exchange rate would expose you”.

The level of super incompetence and cluelessness shown by Dr. Bawumia and his failed economic Management team, remains a worry to both business and non-business Ghanaians following the untoward hardships visited on them.

The reality that is hitting this failed Nana-Bawumia government is that, the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama’s administration outperformed theirs with an unmatched and unparalleled performance.

The economic indicators under H.E John Mahama (who has announced his plan for a 24-hour economy), remain far better than what Ghana has been recording under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia (I.e: the Head of Ghana’s Economic Management team).

Dr. Bawumia’s recent remarks on the “24-Hour economic policy” announced by the former President H.E. John Dramani Mahama revealed how “naive” he(Dr. Bawumia) is on the subject matter, following his claims that the extended;

Operations of hospitals in the country.
Operations of fuel companies.
operations of some chop bars and restaurants.
The availability of Internet and others, indicate that a “24-Hour policy” is already being implemented in Ghana. A very disgraceful and shameful definition of the “24-Hour Economic Policy” , coming from no less a person than the “Head of the Econonic Management Team”.

It should be noted that a “24-Hour economy” as being implemented by countries like Germany and others is focused on skills development, Job creation and industrialization; where productivity is ensured day and night, towards reducing unemployment and enhancing economic growth.

It is a policy that when implemented, would help reduce the rate of youth unemployment in the country, promote growth and strengthen the economy through industrialization.

These are fundamental economic-drivers that the Vice President (Dr. Bawumia) should have known, before coming out to disgracefully claim that Ghana is implementating a “24- Hour Economy” through the operations of “chop bars and Internet services”.

Undoubtedly, H.E. John Mahama’s four (4) years in office remain captured as a “development driven regime”, that enhanced Ghana’s infrastructural development.

His vision towards creating a better Ghana and prosperity for all, would definitely be realized with the implementation of his “24-Hour Economic Policy”; a policy that should be embraced and supported by all, as it saves Ghana from this mess of Nana-Bawumia government.

Let’s change, for a better Ghana.
